7:00 pm – Board of directors met prior to the general membership meeting. These are the items that were discussed:

·         Kelsey Starcher 724-991-7692 stopped in to say she was interested in cleaning the club or offering to be a backup person to contact.

·         Steve said he was going to have the water softener looked at. 

7:33 pm – Meeting was called to order

Introduction of Officers:  Mike Cumberland- President(absent) In Mike’s absence Jim ran the meeting, Chris Smith- Treasurer, Brian Jesteadt- Membership, James Hacke- Secretary, Roger Carfangia- Pistol(absent), Mike Ripley- Black Powder, Tom Horstman- Trap.

Treasurer’s Report: Chris read the report.

Bills and Communications:  The heating oil tank was filled for the season costing $2,657.85. The $2,309.43 fall taxes are due.  A motion was made and granted to pay the taxes by the end of September to receive the discounted rate.  Chris also announced that he updated all contact information with the bank that the club uses. 

Pop: Steve turned in $13.

Rental Committee Report:  State pistol match on Aug 19, 20, 21.  Hall rental on Aug 27.  The black powder rendezvous will be over the Labor Day weekend.  

Pistol Team:  The indoor pistol league will be starting near the end of September.  The pistol team gathers on Thursdays at 5 pm to shoot 22 cal. & Centerfire 32, 38, & 45 cal. All are welcome to come practice.

Trap Team:  Jim reported they are practicing on Tuesdays and will continue every other Tuesday.

Black Powder:  Mike is welcoming everyone to come to check out the rendezvous that will be going on during the Labor Day weekend.  There will be black powder shoots available to participate in.  In honor of George Queen, Ken brought in a plaque that was made to dedicate the black powder shooting trail.   

Meat Shoot:  Nothing to report this month.  The meat shoots are held on the 2nd Sunday of every month.  They start at 11 am and are open to members and the public. 

Junior Rifle Team:  Mike Ripley is no longer running the Junior Rifle team.  Anyone that is interested in taking over please contact Mike or a board of directors.    

Archery: 

Fun Indoor Shoot:  The fun shoots have come to an end and will continue in the upcoming fall.   

Membership:   Brian collected a total of $90, maintenance fund $10, general fund $80, and key cards $0.  New members for the year 2022 are 51.  The current membership is 467 senior life/charter members, 634 total club members.

Old Business:  A question was brought up if the liability coverage at the club was up to date with a high enough coverage amount, and if the coverage was protecting the club and anyone involved with an event held at the club.  Chris investigated the coverage and replied that everyone involved is covered under the policy.  Chris also brought up that changing the coverage to a 1 million dollar policy would not raise the yearly deductible that much.  A motion was made and voted through to raise the existing policy to the 1 million dollar policy coverage.                 

New Business:  Al is hosting the 1st rifle match down at the rifle range on Aug. 20.  There will be 4 classes available to shoot in and he can help you with which class to participate in upon arrival.  It will consist of .22 caliber rifles being shot at NRA small bore targets located at the 100-yard backstop.
